The Teacher Training Department of IH Johannesburg is part of the London-based IH World Organisation.
IH helped to create the standards for teacher training in language education, and continues to do so.

Initial Training Courses

CELTA (Cambridge Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults)
A full time initial qualification within the ELT profession. Awarded by the University of Cambridge, this course is aimed at candidates with little or no previous teaching experience.

Advanced Training

DELTA (Cambridge Diploma in Teaching English to Speakers of other Languages)
DELTA is a flexible modular qualification intended for first language teachers of English. DELTA consists of three independent modules.

International House Johannesburg – Language Lab is a registered Cambridge ESOL centre for Module 1 and Module 3. We have an experienced tutor on-site who may be available to supervise DELTA Module 2 if you register via the International House-British Council Distance DELTA or Bell Online DELTA.
