The Teacher Training Department of IH Johannesburg is part of the London-based IH World Organisation.
IH helped to create the standards for teacher training in language education, and continues to innovate.

Initial Training Courses

CELTA (Cambridge Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults)

IH Certificate in Teaching Languages

Full time option for the most widely recognised initial qualification within the ELT profession. Accredited by the University of Cambridge, this course is aimed at candidates with little or no previous teaching experience.

A qualification designed for candidates with little or no experience of teaching languages leading to the IH Certificate qualification (on which the CELTA was based).

Specialised Training

IHCYL (IH Certificate in English Language Teaching to Young Learners)

Workshops:

A qualification designed for candidates with little or no experience of teaching who wish to learn how to teach young learners.

Highly practical workshops, which can be combined into longer, teacher development courses, as well as full-day annual conferences

Advanced Training

DELTA (Cambridge Diploma in English Language Teaching to Adults)
A higher level training course designed for candidates who have substantial experience of teaching English in a variety of contexts. Accredited by the University of Cambridge, this is the qualification held by most senior staff and Teacher Trainers.
